The Sceaux Castle was built in 1858 imitating Louis XIII period (brick and stone). It houses now the Museum of Ile-de-France and its collections of artistic, archeological patrimony. It presents the story of the property (owned by Louis XIV's minister Colbert), the story of the roal residences and of Ile-de-France.
The superb park was drawn by Le Nôtre (who created the gardens of Versailles).
