You’ll find details of the places mentioned in our information pages and a full description of everything each of these neighbourhoods has to offer in the guidebook Paris for you, published annually in French and in English by the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau. It is distributed free of charge in all our welcome centres.

People’s Paris

La Villette ; Belleville ; Canal Saint-Martin ; Buttes-Chaumont You are off to discover a popular, hip and cosmopolitan Paris. This melting pot of a neighbourhood, where many languages are spoken, is in some ways Paris' window on the world.

Timeless Paris

Notre-Dame, Sainte Chapelle, Panthéon, Jardin des Plantes The banks of the Seine River, from the islands to the Latin Quarter, constitute the original historic centre of the city. Medieval buildings co-exist with crowds of lively young students and the welcome oases of public parks and gardens.

Party-time Paris

République, Oberkampf, Bastille République, Oberkampf, Bastille: a magical triangle if you like to party. There is no better part of Paris to dance, have a drink and meet new people. This is one upbeat, lively neighbourhood!

Hip Paris

Le Marais, Centre Pompidou, Place des Vosges, Musée Picasso The contrast in styles when you walk from the Marais to Les Halles is astonishing. A few metres from the 16th-century mansion houses, the brightly coloured glass and steel bulk of the Centre Pompidou seems to watch over the centuries. Between history and contemporary art, the whole district moves to the rhythm of the latest trends.

Glamorous Paris

Monumental Paris
