Inaugurations
Architecture is the talk of the town, with the up and coming opening of the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine, at place du Trocadéro, in March. Sport is also high on the agenda with the reopening of the Pailleron swimming pool-ice rink in the Buttes-Chaumont area. Finally, close to the Eiffel Tower, Pierre & Vacances are inaugurating a new apartment residence for living just like at home.

Romantic Paris. February is for lovers, with Valentine’s Day and the “month for romance”, organised by the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau. Many places taking part in the operation will be offering gifts and special promotions for a perfect short stay for two. All year round the capital lives up to its reputation as the most romantic city in the world – the perfect setting for those in love to spend a day or forever !
In the spotlight
Learn how to cook. It goes without saying that in a city that numbers the best restaurants in the world and the most internationally-renowned chefs, there is nothing more natural than wanting to get to know a bit more about haute gastronomie or inventive and healthy cooking. This is why courses teaching culinary arts have multiplied in Paris, to the delight of those who enjoy good food – children included.
Classics
Orsay, the museum of 19th-century arts celebrates its 20th anniversary. The musée d’Orsay houses master Impressionist works, and each year, over 2.5 million visitors come to this former train station to discover them. A truly multidisciplinary venue, the majestic glass roof covers many other attractions - concerts, lectures, book shop, restaurants, to enjoy at all ages and especially this year that marks the museum’s 20th anniversary.
Affordable Paris
Music maestro ! Every day of the year, Paris likes to cultivate the spirit of the “fête de la musique”: in churches and festivals, or in the warmth of clubs and bars over a drink, free concerts bring together music fans and the simply curious of all generations and tastes. Paris also celebrates carnival and the Chinese New Year in February.
