Description :
The Japanese graphic art collection at the Musée Guimet contains more than a hundred works attributable to Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849), the «old man mad for painting» as he nicknamed himself in the last few years of his life: polychrome prints as famous as «the Great Wave» or «Red Fuji» (from the series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji), but also rare preparatory drawings, sketches and studies strongly testifying the artist’s intense graphic creativity.
