Unknown two years ago, the group Tokio Hotel has become a musical phenomenon. The four young rockers, who created an electric atmosphere last October at the Palais Omnisports de Bercy will play at the Parc des Princes next June 20 for the delight of fans...
Tokio Hotel is a pop and rock group created in Madgeburg in 2001 by four young Germans: the twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz, George Listing and Gustav Schäfer.
Bill Kaulitz, singer and leader of the group, began composing at the age of seven and was a StarSeach, (new German star) finalist at thirteen.
His twin brother, the guitarist, inherited his passion from his father-in-law. Gustav Schäfer, the drummer, began to learn this instrument at the age of five at the conservatory, where several years later he was to meet George Listing, the double base player.
In 2001, they met up to form the group « Devilish » later to become « Tokio Hotel ».
In 2005 they succeeded in getting a contract with Universal Music. They shot up the charts in Germany with the single « Durch den Monsun ».
The arrival of « Tokio Hotel » in France caused a veritable musical revolution and contributed to new requests for German as a second foreign language, which had seen a dramatic fall in demand. Their first album « Schrei » rose to twelfth position in the charts and concerts were a sell-out. Their second album « Zimmer 483 » reached second place and the album « Scream », their first album in English was released on June 4th, 2008.
