8ème Festival Européen Jeunes Talents

Music, Festivals and festivities, Festivals

From 3 to 27 July 2008
At a time when the summer public is obsessed with the abundance of open-air concerts, the Festival Européen Jeune Talents retains its attractive off-beat style at the Hôtel de Soubise. Each year in July it offers music lovers the best of classical music performances.

This year more than ever, the Festival Européen Jeunes Talents is promoting an exceptional programme in which future great talents of classical music from the whole of Europe will be revealed to the public.

From 3 to 27 July, 50 musicians and singers (Luiz Gustavo-Carvalho, Isabelle Druet & Johanne Ralambondrainy, Marie Vermeulin, Constance Luzzati, Quatuor Atrium, etc.) will perform each evening from 8pm in the splendid ambiance of the Hôtel de Soubise. These young stars, all aged between 18 and 30, and all from the greatest conservatoires in Europe, perform pieces by the greatest composers: Mozart, Schumann, Vivaldi, Chostakovitch, Brahms, Saint Saëns, Bach, etc. under the trained ear of this edition’s sponsor: the conductor Frédéric Lodéon.

Happening around the festival, don’t miss the famous free public rehearsals performed daily and open to all, the « Musique pour tous » days, an initiative designed for children aged 6 to 12, as well as the new free Sunday concerts on 6, 13 and 20 July at 4pm in three of Paris’s public gardens (Jardin de l'Hôtel de Soubise, Parc de Belleville, Jardin du Luxembourg).
