Festival d'Ile-de-France

Festivals and festivities, Music, Festivals

From 5 September to 12 October 2008
Each autumn, the « Festival d’Ile de France » invites the public to enjoy an eclectic musical programme at wonderful heritage sites in the Paris region. For this new edition, this touring festival will take place at some thirty or so picturesque sites, more or less well-known to the public: theatres, show venues, churches, chateaux, abbeys, museums…in Paris and Ile-de-France and will stage an array of concerts featuring world music, classical music, electronic music, jazz and contemporary works as well as talks and workshops.

This year, the theme of the festival is the Finistères and their « music from all over the world»; it will take you on a discovery of distant countries: the Caribbean, Iceland, the Philippines, Spain, Mexico, Polynesia, Spain, Mexico, Polynesia, Brittany… and of their rich cultural and musical heritage.
