Paris boasts more than 450 parks and gardens that take on a particularly festive air in summer — not forgetting the woods, zoos and theme parks.
Enjoy a walk amongst the flowers, a picnic, or a siesta in the sun on the lawns open to the public in summertime.
Paris has magnificent French-style gardens: the Tuileries which are an extension of the Louvre (1st), the Jardin des Plantes (5th) or Luxembourg, great for kids (6th).
Romantics should go to Parc Monceau (8th), Parc Montsouris (14th) or Parc des Buttes-Chaumont (19th).
For modern gardens there are Parc André-Citroën (15th), Parc de Bercy (12th), Parc de la Villette (19th) or the new Jardins d’Eole (18th).
And for something different, take an elevated walk along the gardens of the famous Viaduc des Arts!
The Parc fl oral (12th), the Bois de Boulogne (16th) and the Bois de Vincennes (12th) are the places to go to for extensive areas of woodland and are a favourite with walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
Have fun with the family at the play areas and attractions of the Jardin d’Acclimatation (16th), or at the wonderful world of Disney at Disneyland® Resort Paris and Parc Astérix.
